Blair and Jess had their gorgeous summer wedding at Broadlands Lodge in Reporoa just outside of Taupo. It was a perfect sunny summers day and we had lots of laughs, a few tears and more laughs.

Both Blair and Jess come from a logging/foresty background and often spent time in the forest. Both their dads worked together in the forest and they met when they were kids. Unfortunately both of them have lost their dads and their were quite a few tears during the speeches. It was so lovely, but boy did I cry.

Because of their ties to the forest (Blair even proposed in the forest while they were target shooting) we had their first look in front of the logs in Lake Taupo Forest. It was super bright but so cool! The boys were lucky though and had prepared themselves and brought sunglasses with them.

Back at Broadlands Lodge they had set up their arch using a Skidder. How cool does it look. Jess headed down the aisle by herself, which I thought was amazing but also such a gorgeous tribute to her dad who was walking beside her in spirit.

After dinner during the speeches, Jess and Blair played a game with their guests. Under one of the seats they hid something (I can’t remember what - facepalm) and if you found it, you won a Stihl chainsaw. It was so funny and unexpected.

While we headed to the long grass paddock for sunset photos we took some of them with the Skidder too. How cool do they look framed by the tyres? Jess and Blair thank you so much for having us along to capture your amazing day for you both. It was an honour to be your photographer xx
