St Michaels Catholic Church & Tironui Wedding Venue | Chebie & Kimmy

Chebie and Kimmy's long-awaited wedding day finally arrived, and it was a celebration filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. After facing the disappointment of a postponed wedding due to a Covid lockdown, they finally got to celebrate with family and friends.

In September 2021, Chebie and Kimmy were suppose to celebate the wedding, however, the Covid lockdown meant that they got married with only immediate family present. It was kind of lucky as Kimmy’s sister went into labour that day too. Eight months later they had their party!

The day started with Kimmy, Chebie, the bridal party and parents all getting ready in one house together. It was so much fun, a little crammed but awesome. I had a lot of fun photographing them and their details together. Kimmy still fit her wedding dress and was so lucky to be able to wear it twice.

The vow renewal ceremony took place at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, officiated by Father Prakash. The groomsmen and bridesmaids walked side by side up the aisle together, instead of the bridemaids by themselves. Chebie entered the church by himself and walked a third of the way up the aisle, and then Kimmy made her appearance, confidently walking up to join Chebie. Together, arm in arm, they completed the journey up the aisle. As the ceremony concluded, Chebie and Kimmy walked back down the aisle, greeted by their cheering guests waving foil frill firework sticks.

Next, we headed to the enchanting Tironui Wedding Venue for the bridal party photos. The colorful leaves of autumn still clinging to the trees perfectly coordinated with Kimmy's bridesmaids as they all wore different colors and dresses that perfectly complemented the time of year.

As the sun began to set, we captured breathtaking couple photos in the golden hour light. I convinced Chebie and Kimmy to hike up a hill at Tironui, offering a stunning view for some unforgettable shots. Of course, I forget my gumboots again, but the photos we got made up for any inconvenience.

The reception kicked off with the bridal party dancing their way in, followed by an entertaining dance routine by all the guests. Chebie and Kimmy shared their first dance as a married couple, followed by heartwarming dances with their loved ones.

Throughout the night, hilarious games involving the guests brought so much laughter. It was an evening filled with joy and celebration, and as the clock struck 8:30 pm, the guests bid their farewells, which was a little surprising but very cool.

Despite the challenges these two faced leading up to their special day, it was an amazing was filled with unforgettable moments, surrounded by family and friends. Thank you both for having me along to capture your day xx
