Baydon and Talia had their wedding at the gorgeous Broadlands Lodge, just outside of Taupo.
Talia got ready with family and friends at Wairakei Resort while Baydon was further down the road at his dads. The boys left early to go and collect their cars (and ute) from the garage. They arrived all nicely cleaned and shiny (can you tell I’m a girl?).
Baydon is Tokelauan and at the start of their ceremony both were gifted with gorgeous Kahu Huruhuru’s (cloaks). These were handmade by Baydon’s aunty and were a representation of Talia’s Maori heritage and Baydon’s Tokelauan heritage with the tapa cloth. After their first dance, a Hiva (traditional Tokelauan dance) was performed for them which was amazing to watch.
Broadlands Lodge is a gorgeous wedding venue and was the perfect location for Baydon and Talia’s marriage. Their guests (will some of them) arrived via bus from Wairakei Resort. Baydon drove his ute in which has a number plate that reference’s Megamind. It was so awesome! I had to go and find the reference in the movie the next day.
We tried to sneak Baydon and Talia out for golden hour photos but were slightly too late, however, the tones with the golden light fading behind the trees were beautiful. Talia had two gorgeous dresses so for the up until the reception she wore the Leah + Thea dress and from the reception onwards she wore her Astra Bridal dress.
Baydon and Talia thanks so much for having us along to capture your gorgeous day! xx
